Nekked & Unafraid Zombie Doll Maria
A vintage Barbie Family doll resurrected into the zombie realm!
How do you solve a problem like Nekked & Unafraid Zombie Doll Maria? You adopt her today … and that’s no nunsense!
Repurposed vintage Barbie Family Doll is 12 inches tall and posable (arms and legs bend, head turns) . She is dressed in a vintage late 1960s/early 1970s outfit, and because I am such a nice guy I am throwing in a second vintage outfit for Maria, who wants to get out of the “habit” of wearing just one dress.
Oh, Our poor Maria has a tendency to lose her head sometimes. Ergo, I have created bloodied guts to wrap around her neck and dangle from her head should you decide to display her that way. I kind of like her topless (oops, headless).
The original doll was one my sister played with about half a century ago (not that I’m giving away our ages) and is for display purposes only. She’ll sit fine but needs a doll stand to display upright. Maria is zombied all over, so any attire you may already have (or no attire at all … Nekked & Unafraid) will work very well. I’m also including a Certificate of Reanimation so you’ll know your dolly’s roots.
What an absolutely delightful gift this would make for your zombie-obsessed loved one, OR as a special treat for yourself … and you DO deserve a treat today. Also think Halloween decoration, wreath, tree topper, tabletop centerpiece, etc. Let that creative imagination go wild and get that voodoo ON.
What began as a Halloween project for me quickly evolved into a burning passion. I love my sweet little babies and hope you do as well. Thank you so much for visiting and please continue to support the fine DIY artists and crafters here. We’re here for you and love it!
I am Paul Alan Bierman and I live just north of Memphis. I was a decoupage artist for about 25 years, producing boxes, artwork, glass, furniture and other decorative items that I sold on-line and in various markets around Washington, D.C. Everybody knew me as BoxBoy as the name of my business was BoxBoy Demented Decoupage. I retired from decoupaging a couple of years ago for various reasons, calling it a day after a good quarter of a century run. Recently I decided I wanted to try my hand at creating zombie dolls as a Halloween project for my outdoor cemetery. Well, I got immediately addicted and a couple of babies turned into about 30 in no time at all. I feel like a proud father who belongs on a real-life TV show! I am constantly experimenting with new techniques and am still learning (although I AM at that age where it is extremely hard to teach an old dog new tricks). Nevertheless, I trudge on because it gives me something fun to do, is therapeutic and keeps me off the street and out of trouble. I am thrilled to be on this site as the talent is unbelievably incredible and inspirational. So that’s about it … I truly hope you enjoy these offerings as much as I do making them!
